Intel PC with Pentium (586) or later processor, Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7.

IMPORTANT: If you have another Third Party speller currently installed, uninstall that speller before installing the Sylvan spell checker.

Installation ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

1) Log into your system as Administrator.

2) To install your new Sylvan Spell Checker, it is best to close other programs, especially virus software.

3) Establish an Internet connection if you are not already on-line.

4) Open Control Panel, User Accounts, User Accounts and disable the User Account Control.

5) Click on the link http://www.sylvansoft.com/allproducts.htm to download your Complete Medical/Pharmaceutical spell checker for Word 2007/2010. Your order #, product ID and password will only work for the version you purchased, i.e. MP23WD2007D1, MP25WD2007D1 etc. Older Medical speller versions are at the bottom of the page. Internet Explorer allows you to choose the location of the download. Using your mouse pointer, choose the folder for download. Example: c:\temp

6) When the download is complete, close the Internet Explorer dialog box. Locate MP__2007.exe, Double click on MP__2007.exe, where the underscore is the version you purchased, i.e. MP23_2007.exe or MP25_2007.exe etc. Enter the Order Number, Product ID and Password that you received in your Sylvan Product Authorization email. The speller will self install to c:\Program Files\Sylvan\MedPharm2007 or c:\Program Files (x86)\Sylvan\MedPharm2007.

7) Restart your computer.

8) Configuring Microsoft Word - Word 2007/2010 does not require any configuration and does not include an option to select different spellers as did previous versions. However, you must restart your computer at the end of the Sylvan installation to guarantee that the installation is complete.

9) You can test the installation by opening the MedPharmTest.docx file in the Program Files\Sylvan\MedPharm2007 folder and then select Review / Spelling from the Word ribbon to check the document.

Uninstalling ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

To Uninstall your Sylvan Spell Checker, do the following steps:

1) Log into your system as Administrator.

2) Establish an Internet connection if you are not already on-line.

3) You can either start Uninstallation by running the MP__2007.exe program or by selecting "Sylvan MedPharm Speller" in the "Add/Remove Programs" utility in Windows Control Panel."

Installation Troubleshooting :::::::::::::::::

Generally, installation of the Spell Checker is trouble free. However, there are a couple of issues that can sometimes cause problems, mostly having to do with the security settings for your system. Sylvan respects your security measures and the installer takes no actions to alter them.

1) The installer must write some values to your system Registry to tell Word that the Speller is available for use. Be sure that you have full Administrator privileges on your system during installation.

2) Some system security software, when properly doing its job, can prevent the installer from writing the necessary Registry entries and even prevent the writing of needed system files. You may want to disable such software for the few minutes it takes to install the Spell Checker. If you are connecting to the Internet through a proxy server, be sure that the proxy firewall and content screening permit connection to the Sylvan
server.

3) Product registration via the Internet can sometimes be blocked by Firewall software. If you are using a Firewall you will need to allow the "InstallShield Setup Engine" to have access to the net, for just a few moments, during both installation and uninstallation.

4) During installation you may receive an alert regarding a cookie. This is a session tracking cookie only and contains no personal nor tracking content and should be allowed.

Product Authorization Notes :::::::::::::::

The Sylvan Software Complete Medical / Pharmaceutical Spell Checker requires registration via the Internet to operate. While the number of times the same product can be registered is limited, Sylvan has made every effort to preserve your allotted registrations so that you can move the software to other computers as needed.

When you Uninstall the Spell Checker, be sure to establish an internet connection. The Uninstaller will automatically contact the Sylvan Registration Server and attempt to restore your authorization to the database. Then, when you reinstall the software on another system, it will be there for you to use again. The number of available installs available on the Sylvan server displays on the screen when you install or uninstall.

Privacy FAQ's :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Your on-line product registration information is not shared by Sylvan Software with any other party. Sylvan provides no information about you to any other companies nor is your product registration information used for any marketing or tracking purposes.

During installation, Sylvan does not collect any personal information from your system other than a few items about the hardware and operating system.
